My books are designed with real-life feelings, comforting resolutions, and a read-aloud rhythm that invites both snuggles and meaningful conversations. Whether a child is feeling left out, uncertain, or brave in a new way, I want them to hear - in every page: you're not alone - all wrapped in a cozy farm setting with a little barnyard magic.
These days, Susan lives with her husband on their farm in Illinois and with a background in editing and a passion for helping children navigate big feelings, Susan creates stories that are as teachable as they are heartwarming. Susan brings a deep sense of warmth, wonder, and wisdom to every story she tells - straight from the heart - hoping her books will help kids feel at home in themselves and spark the kind of gentle, meaningful conversations that stay with a child long after the story ends.
Her books are ideal for classrooms, libraries, and bedtime reading alike - inviting connection, conversation, and courage on every page. She's currently at work on more books in the Hay Bales and Farm Tales series, each one a love letter to the messy, magical business of growing up.
